Making Room
There's a thing that happens when you take a wall down. You don't just get more room. You get a different room. The light moves. The sound changes. You stand somewhere you've never stood before and you see everything differently. That desire to change, improve, and see the place differently has been building here at Four Quarters for some time. Not in one dramatic moment, but gradually. And the more we have changed, the more obvious it has become that 70 Main Street still has a lot of room to grow.If you’ve been in recently, you will have noticed some of it already. The walls have changed color. The space is brighter. The patio is more open. We have been holding more events outside, among the trees at the top of the circle, which is where a summer afternoon in Winooski should be spent. These changes are intentional. Since we opened the doors in 2021, 70 Main Street has become much more than a brewery taproom. We have hosted weddings, fundraisers, markets, live music, community events, and plenty of strange and wonderful moments in between. That evolution is something we are continuing. What we’re building toward is this: to open our space up literally and metaphorically. To brighten it, to fill it with even more plants, people, great food and good times. More room for events, more room for music, more room for dancing, more room for makers, markets, fundraisers, community groups, and the kind of gatherings that deserve something more than a function room at the back of a hotel.“What we’re building toward is this: to open our space up literally and metaphorically. ”
The work so far is just the beginning. Over the coming weeks and months, we will continue reshaping the site to make it warmer, more useful, more welcoming, and more fun for both new and familiar faces. We are not just improving the space. We are also improving what it offers. That means a stronger food program, better hospitality, more events, and a sharper, more nimble brew kit built for creativity, so we can produce more limited releases, more collaborations, and more seasonal beers to discover. We're doing this because we're staying, and staying means investing. So, you'll have a front-row view of the process. Some of it you can already see, more is coming. Like any renovation, parts of it will be noisy and a little dusty, but we're confident the end result will be worth it. “We’re doing this because we’re staying, and staying means investing.”
We appreciate everyone who has already noticed the changes, offered feedback, and encouraged the direction we are heading. It tells us the work is landing the way we hoped. There is still plenty to do, but the vision for the site is starting to take shape, and we are excited to keep building a brighter, busier, more beautiful space with you.We will keep sharing updates as the work continues, so follow along for more on what is changing, what is coming next, and how the next version of 70 Main Street takes shape.<3 The Four Quarters Crew
